Project Manager (PM)

Onward Engineering is currently looking for an experienced Project Manager (PM). You will be expected to act as the Client's representative on a variety of public works projects including roadway, freeway, waterline system, sewer line system, and storm drain system projects for public agencies. The candidate must be able to manage our design team and assist in the engineering and preparation of PS&E, including reviewing specifications and drawings for completeness, submit reports, reviewing schedules, and monitoring the progress and cost of all assigned projects.

Description:

  • The Project Manager will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and designers in all aspects of design and plan preparation for roadway, highway, and civil improvement projects for City and County agencies in California.

  • The successful candidate will deliver projects per agreed to plan, budget, and quality objectives. (S)He will lead, assign, and review work of the project delivery team; check work and progress and identify changes of scope and additional services.

  • Will be responsible for mentoring and developing the skills of our junior design team and civil engineering interns.

  • The successful candidate will develop and maintain client relationships as well as lead proposal development and interview preparation and participation.

  • The successful candidate will also be involved in the design work, and will be a hands-on Project Manager.


Professional Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

  • 7+ years of Public Works experience (emphasis on roadway projects preferred).

  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license.

  • Experience in AutoCAD Civil3D is required.

  • Experience providing Construction Management in addition to Design Project Management is preferred.

  • Demonstrated management and mentoring skills.

  • Strong technical writing and communication skills are required.
